Adults with care and support needs are amongst the most vulnerable members of society. Protecting them from becoming the victims of abuse is everyone’s responsibility.
Solihull Safeguarding Adults Board have agreed the following equal principles as set by the Government as the foundation to achieving good outcomes for adults with care and support needs:
Presumption of person led decisions and consent
Support and representation for those in greatest need
Prevention of neglect, harm and abuse is a primary objective
Proportionate and least intrusive response to the risk presented
Local solutions through services working with their communities
Accountability and transparency in delivering safeguarding
This website has been designed to provide members of the public, people who use health and social care services, professional and practitioners with information, procedures and guidance on safeguarding adults in Solihull.
If you are in fear of someone or you have been harmed or mistreated by someone or you know or suspect an adult with care and support needs is being abused, tell someone you trust, and do it as soon as you can. Use our “Report Abuse” link at the top of the page.
This is affecting us all at work and at home. We’re working hard with partners to ensure safeguarding remains a priority whilst there is a focus of efforts on the most critical areas of service provision.
