What is a Safeguarding Adult Review?

Safeguarding Adults Reviews (previously known as Serious Case Reviews)

The Care Act 2014 requires Safeguarding Adult Boards to arrange Safeguarding Adult Reviews (previously known as Serious Case Reviews) if there are concerns that partner agencies could have worked more effectively to protect an adult from serious harm or abuse, whether the adult has died or not.

All Safeguarding Adults Reviews will usually result in an Executive Summary being produced which will be published on this website.

An SSAB Guidance document to SAR’s is also available below.
